Quick Access Toolbar in Microsoft Word 2007

The Word application in Microsoft Office 2007 has added a Quick Access Toolbar. Surely many would say that it is not their favorite addition, but after using it, most agree that it is quite useful. This article will briefly dicuss the Microsoft Word Quick Access toolbar.

What is under the Menu?

The toolbar is located by default in the top left-hand corner of the Microsoft Word application immediately to the right of the Microsoft Office 2007 logo. The Quick Access Toolbar has ten standard commands, including New (CLT +N), Open (CLT+O) Acer Aspire 3000 Battery, Save (CLT +S), E-mail, Quick Print (CLT +P), Spelling & Grammar (F7), Undo (CLT +Z), Redo (CLT+Y), and Draw Table.

Save, Undo, and Redo are the three commands that are displayed on the toolbar by default when first opening Microsoft Word. All ten commands can be checked and unchecked to be displayed. There is no digging around through drop down menus or having to remember where that favorite command is located.

Custom Commands

With a little time, users can make a custom command to do just about anything they want within Word. Then they can choose an icon to associate with the command and give it a name. Missing the Ribbon?

Within the Quick Access Toolbar drop-down menu, there are two more options that are worth mentioning: Show Below the Ribbon and Minimize the Ribbon. The latter one is very important to be familiar with. We all will unintentionally minimize the Ribbon and need to know how to fix it. Lastly, the Show Below the Ribbon is merely a personal preference of location.
